This is the first of an ongoing series of installments showcasing the great photos shot during the KEXP Morning Show sessions at the Cutting Room Studios in New York City.
This set includes acts from the boroughs of New York and around the world. We were treated to Brooklyn dance punk from Matt & Kim, blazing hot new indie rock from Staten Island band Cymbals Eat Guitars, indie pop from London-based Fanfarlo, experimental electro-pop from Tanlines, the brassy soul of Fitz & the Tantrums, Seattle’s introspective power-folk group The Moondoggies, the brilliant lyrics and North Carolina rock from The Mountain Goats, exciting and fresh electronic afro-beat from Burkina Electric, and the lush electro-pop of Phantogram.
Also included in this set of photos taken from live performances at Cutting Room Studios in New York is Norwegian rocker Ida Maria, Kevin Devine (of Manchester Orchestra), Brooklyn indie from Brian Bonz, indie rockers from Finland Rubik, electro-rock from Detroit band Deastro, slow-boiling dream-gaze from the Brooklyn underground by Soft Black, and the unique rockabilly sound from Heavy Trash (featuring Jon Spencer of The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Matt Verta-Ray of Madder Rose).
